This was a "back-to-school" special two-day reunion event with more than 60 graduates in attendance. It all started Saturday evening, June 23, 2007 at six o'clock in the Lodge Room tucked inside Gateway Elks Lodge. Mix and mingling opened the night as Alumni and attending Guest arrived to the nostalgia of high school with green, black, and white school colors. The walls showed off Senior Awards and scattered atop the tables laid our Equestrian newspapers dated throughout our high school years.
Soft lighting and candle lit tables paved the way for a catered dinner buffet serving tempting Chicken Parmesan and Pacific Halibut along side Scalloped Potatoes, Rice Pilaf, and Steamed Veggies. A few steps up led to a fully stocked bar service that served as common grounds of fond conversations throughout the evening.
Various formal & informal entertainments plus dancing offered focal points of interests. Ari Karczag hosted the Open Mic with Alumni speakers Andy Over, Allisun Simpson, and Adam Harrison. Jim Pham took the stage to pay tribute to all classmates serving in the United States Armed Forces and led a moment of silence during the eulogy of three classmates.
The best kept Senior Slide Show made its 10 year debut! A seven minute excerpt of high school photos were previewed and each attending Alumnus received a multi-selection DVD containing the original Senior Slide Show plus bonus features - all totaling nearly an hour of high school pictures & memories. Finally a class photograph was captured to signal the start of dancing, drinking, and merriment to conclude the evening.
A late night & sleeping in started Sunday, June 24, 2007 at eleven thirty in the morning. With typical Portland rain in the air, the Parkrose High School cafeteria & gymnasium provided the perfect family gathering spot. Upbeat pep music, catered food & beverage, and lots of activities created a grand afternoon to meet Alumni & their family. Children were welcomed at no additional cost. A game of football, shooting hoops, tossing the ultimate Frisbee, playing Are you smarter than a high school student, and relaxing in pleasant conversations closed up the most memorable 10-year reunion.
Following more than a year of volunteering efforts, the PHSBronco97 Reunion Committee would like to thank everyone for the success of our 10-year reunion based on observations and feedback from classmates. Thanks for a great Ten-Year Reunion, and we will see everyone again soon!
Sincerely, PHSBronco97 Reunion Committee
